Application field
There are many types of buffer idlers, such as spring plate type, buffer ring type, strong buffer type, etc. So when making a choice, one should choose appropriately. When choosing idlers, pay attention to the radial runout of the idlers, their flexibility, and the axial play. The surface of the buffer idler is composed of cold-drilled coupling elastic rubber rings and lock rings. The buffer idler is installed below the receiving section of the conveyor to reduce the impact on the conveyor belt and extend its service life. Buffer idlers mainly serve a buffering function. Buffer idlers are used at the receiving area of belt conveyors to reduce the impact of falling materials on the conveyor belt. Buffer idlers are a type of idler mainly developed for corrosive environments such as coal washing plants, coking plants, and chemical plants.
Technical highlights
The special polymer material for buffer idlers is light in weight, with a specific gravity of one seventh that of steel. The idlers made of this material weigh about half as much as ordinary idler accessories. They have a small rotational inertia, and the friction between the idlers and the belt is small, significantly reducing the friction between them. Reducing the spacing of the idlers can decrease the simulated friction coefficient, but the total resistance will increase. Except for the unloading point where it is to protect the belt, the density of the idlers in the general load-bearing section should not be increased. In addition, the rubber rings of the buffer idlers have a long service life. The toughness of the buffer idler itself is more than ten times that of ordinary metals, the service life of the buffer idler is five times that of traditional idlers, and it features corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, antistatic, and light weight. It is widely used in mining. The special polymer material for the roller body of the idler has a performance similar to that of bronze, with excellent wear resistance and good self-lubricating properties, which will not damage the belt.
Product parameters
Impact toughness, flexural strength and Rockwell hardness
After quenching heat treatment, compared with the single high-chromium cast iron material, the mechanical performance parameters of the bimetallic composite material samples have been significantly improved, and they can fully meet the service conditions where the grinding balls and abrasives in the ball mill apply impact loads to them.
2. Interface hardness distribution
Seven sampling points were randomly selected on both sides of the transition area of the sample interface, and the load was set at 1.96 Newtons. The microhardness (HV) was measured using a microhardness tester. Figure 1 shows that the microhardness of the high-chromium cast iron side in the transition zone is significantly higher than that of the carbon steel side, but the hardness value presents a smooth transition state. The two materials form a certain width of bonding zone, and the interface composite quality is relatively high.
